The Dog of the South

Ray Midge goes in pursuit of his wife Norma, who has run away with her first husband, following her via her credit card receipts from Arkansas to Central America. There he meets the eccentric and visionary Dr. Reo Symes. Symes is seeking an elusive spiritual guru named John Selmer Dix, Ray is seeking his wife, and the two team up in a madcap road trip.
