This is a complete revision of the author's 1973 novel of the same name. As a spoiled teenager, Lesley Shelby was unhappy when her father moved the family from their home in Canada to a kibbutz in Israel. The story is set in the days before, during, and after the Six-Day War of 1967, an event that prompts Lesley to think more seriously about what it means to be Jewish. The character of Lesley also appears in the novel Broken Bridge.
