A CIA agent turned private detective must rely on his former skills and a series of conflicting memories to locate a missing man in this post-Cold War thriller by the author of THE COMPANY. When Martin Odum was in the CIA, the complex cover stories he and the agency created were necessary for his survival. Unfortunately, these cover stories have now swallowed his original identity, and the now-retired Odum no longer has any clear idea who he truly is, or was. Currently employed as a private investigator in Brooklyn, he agrees to locate a woman`s errant husband so that the man can grant her a get, or Orthodox Jewish divorce. This apparently straightforward task quickly turns dangerous, and forces Odum to confront his various past and present selves.
