This sequel to SARAH, PLAIN& TALL begins with Papa and Sarah getting married, much to the delight of Anna and Caleb. However, a devastating summer drought soon descends on the prairie, forcing Anna and Caleb to leave their father on the family farm and retreat with Sarah to her birthplace in Maine. As the children adjust to life in Maine, they learn more about Sarah's past and, for the first time in their lives, touch the ocean. Despite enjoying themselves, Anna and Caleb pray for rain on the prairie, thus allowing their family to reunite. Illustrated with B&W pencil drawings.
